One Word Film

For this project we had to create a "One Word Film." After being assigned a word and had to make a short film which portrayed our word. The film had to be able to take place within a minute to a minute thirty and there could be no sound, dialogue, or writing used throughout, limiting us to using editing techniques to show the emotion for our given word.

The word we were assigned for our film was "Anxious"

We decided to tell the story of a girl taking a test and awaiting her result.

Brainstorming Sheet
During our brainstorming we figured out the types of shots we wanted to use as well as how we were going to portray our word. At first, we struggled to come up with an idea that would work within the timeframe as we wanted to show a girl taking a test but couldn't find a way to fit it into 90 seconds. During filming, the storyboard and brainstorming sheet allowed us to see what shots we still needed to film and helped us keep track of what we had left to do.

I did however, have to edit some of the shots in a different order from the storyboard due to continuity issues causes during filming.

While I was editing, I was unable to open my file on Adobe Premier and ended up editing the film on my phone using Premier Rush.

I feel like we did well with planning the project before we began filming as we were able to follow the brainstorm and storyboard easily when capturing the shots we needed. However, I feel like continuity was an issue after we had finished filming as some of the shots did not make sense in the order they were supposed to be edited in and I had to reorder some of the shots. I also had to get rid of some of the shots entirely as they did not make sense chronologically
